About this Training:
This beginning level training will utilize theory and practice from Dr. Connie Lillas, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, and other key trauma and early childhood experts to help participants describe key physical changes in prenatal and infant brain development, and describe the interactions between brain development, arousal states, stress responses, and attachment. Additionally, this workshop will review how detrimental effects of early trauma and adverse experiences can be ameliorated by neurological plasticity and positive relationships. Participants will learn to view parent-child interaction and infant/toddler behavior and symptoms, as well as discuss “bottom-up” strategies and tools to assess and intervene with parent-child dyads.
This training counts towards the knowledge domain training hours required for those seeking CA IFECMH endorsement.
